Jordfall is the most-logged dive site in the Gullmarsfjord: a jetty entry, a swim of about 80 m, and a rock wall held by leather coral, finger coral, cup coral and anemones. Divers log it as a comfortable dive to about 16 m, while the water below the wall itself is 80 to 100 m deep.
Also known as Gullmarsfjorden Jordfall.

The dive
Get in at the very end of the jetty and swim out diagonally to the left, roughly 80 m, until the rock wall comes up beneath you, then follow it down. The wall is the dive: leather coral, finger coral and cup coral hold the face, with anemones filling the ground between them, and it is the reason divers keep returning to this one entry.
Carry on a short way around the point and the wall gets deeper. Nearer in there are crevices full of Norway lobster and a stone cairn worth picking apart, and divers log this as a comfortable dive to about 16 m; lobster and crab are usually somewhere along the way. Keep the depth honest as you work along the face, because the water below the wall drops to between 80 and 100 m.

Season follows Bohuslän & Gullmarsfjord: Late winter gives the clearest water once the plankton dies back; Jul–Sep is warmest and easiest for shore entries.
Know before you go
- The water below the wall goes to between 80 and 100 m, with nothing underneath to catch a slow, unnoticed descent. Set a depth before you go down and watch the gauge along the face.

Questions divers ask
Do you need a boat for Jordfall?+
No, it is a shore dive. You get in off the end of the jetty and swim about 80 m out to the wall. Getting there means the ferry from Lysekil across to the Bokenäs side, and 40 SEK left in the box for parking.
