Coral Garden Ghalib
Coral garden to 25 m, a quarter of an hour south of the marina

Coral Garden Ghalib is a boat dive about 15 minutes south of Port Ghalib, a coral garden with a maximum depth of 25 metres. It is one of the shorter boat runs from the marina, and the operator's own note that it is always good for a surprise is a fair description of a site where the interest is in what turns up on the day rather than in any single feature.

The dive
After roughly a quarter of an hour's run south from the marina the boat moors over the garden and the dive is a wander across it. With 25 metres as the maximum there is no need to set a deep leg; most groups descend to the bottom of the garden, work back up through the coral and spend the bulk of the dive in the shallower, better-lit part.
There is no headline animal to aim for here; the catalogue's description is simply a coral garden that is always good for a surprise. Dive it slowly, look at the coral rather than through it, and finish under the boat, where the shallow top of the garden makes the safety stop.
