Ras Shaitan, the Devil's Head, is a site 15 km north of Nuweiba dived from the shore. Its draw is the shape of the seabed: narrow valleys, sand-filled hollows and deep chasms in the contoured reef, with a seagrass meadow in the shallows and pinnacles further down.
Also known as Ras Shaytan, Devils Head, Devil's Head.

The dive
The entry leads over a seagrass meadow where seahorses and pipefish shelter among table corals and anemones in several colours, and rays and sharks are possible.
Beyond the meadow the reef breaks up into narrow valleys, sand-filled depressions and deep chasms between 10 m and 30 m. Descending further, to 40 m (130 ft), brings more corals and pinnacles.
