Devil's Reef is one of the named reef dives of the Ocho Rios fringing shelf: a gentle reef slope that gives way to a steep drop-off over a sand bottom. Its depth makes it a site for divers with deep diving experience and certification, in the same class as English Reef.
Also known as Devil’s Reef.
Where it is and how deep
No published position for this site — the map shows Ocho Rios and its other sites; operators know the mooring.
The dive
The dive begins on a reef that slopes gently down to 20 m (65 ft). Below that the reef turns into a steep drop-off, which ends on a sandy bottom at 40 m (130 ft), so how far down the wall a dive goes sets its profile. Schools of colourful fish, sea slugs and moray eels live on the reef, and turtles and nurse sharks may pass.
