Cala Incina

Cala Incina is a natural inlet on the boundary between Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, dived from the shore. Its sheer walls hold grottoes and caverns that are easy to reach, the cove is well sheltered, and a statue of the Madonna stands in one of its caves.

The dive
The dive follows the walls of the sheltered cove. The left-hand wall drops to a maximum of 15 m, with grottoes and caverns opening in the rock along the way. At 14 m a cave holds the statue of the Madonna, the set piece of the dive, and the deepest point reached is 18 m.

Season follows Polignano a Mare & Monopoli: September is the pick, with the sea at 24–25 °C and the summer crowds gone; May and June are quiet too, and the water bottoms out near 14 °C in midwinter.

The statue stands in a cave at 14 m, a little above the deepest point of the dive at 18 m, so an Open Water diver can reach it.
