The dive

Anchor is a short ride from the dock, and the boat puts divers onto a reef with a nice variety of features and a maximum depth of 18 m (60 ft). The site is one of a cluster of shallow reefs, alongside Angel and Blue Tang, that suit novice divers. Operators choose the day's sites by weather, water conditions and the divers' experience, so the plan for any given day depends on the sea.

Close to Anchor is Arena, a pair of large sand bowls where a number of eels are often seen. Around the island, rays, turtles, barracuda, lobsters and many kinds of reef fish are usual sights on reefs of coral and limestone. Boat dives here need a minimum of 3 divers, and a dive watch or computer is required on board, so it is worth carrying one for the trip out.
