Stratmann Wreck
A tug wreck whose portholes and hatches shelter green morays
Area photo: Barry Peters from Greer, SC · CC BY 2.0
The Stratmann is a sunken tug off Bequia, one of the four wrecks around the island. The hull is rated for intermediate divers and the route links it to the Devil's Table reef, so a single dive covers both the wreck and a stretch of coral, with sand-dwelling critters around the stern.
Also known as Strattman, Stratmann tug.
Where it is and how deep
No published position for this site — the map shows Bequia and its other sites; operators know the mooring.
The dive
The tug's stern rests on sand at 18 m (60 ft), where shy garden eels and tiny yellow-headed jawfish peer out of their holes. Portholes and hatches along the hull are worth checking for green morays. The top of the wreck, at 5 m (15 ft), makes a natural platform for the safety stop, and the dive carries on to finish over the Devil's Table reef.
