Atlantida
A reef top for newer divers above a vertical drop to sand
Atlantida is a reef off Boa Vista with a vertical edge, so one site serves two kinds of diver. Newer divers stay on the reef top among small animals, while advanced divers carry on over the edge and down the wall to the sand at its foot.
Where it is and how deep
No published position for this site — the map shows Boa Vista and its other sites; operators know the mooring.
The dive
Beginners keep to the top of the reef at around 9 m, looking for the many small animals that live on it: lobsters, scorpionfish, eels, nudibranchs and spider crabs are some of the species in the shallows. For advanced divers the dive continues past the reef edge and down the vertical face until it meets the sand at 30 m.

Season follows Boa Vista: Boats run all year; loggerheads mate around the reef rocks Jun–Sep, and rougher winter seas can affect the diving.
