A Prince Rupert Bay dive built around a sand plateau at 11 m (35 ft) covered with coral heads, sponges and sea plume, which Cabrits Dive Centre compares to swimming through a sun-filled aquarium. Off the edge of the plateau the wall drops away past 30 m (100 ft), and the published range for the site runs from 20 to 110 feet (up to 34 m).

The dive
The plateau is the heart of the dive. Cabrits Dive Centre puts it at 11 m (35 ft), a sand shelf covered with coral heads, sponges and sea plume, and much of the bottom time goes into working across it from head to head. That is shallow enough to spend a long time on, and it is where the sun-filled aquarium comparison the centre uses comes from.
The edge of the plateau is the other half of the site: the wall drops off past 30 m (100 ft), with more colourful sponges and coral down the face, and the published range of 20 to 110 feet, roughly 6 m to 33.5 m, covers the whole of it. The sensible order is the wall first and the plateau afterwards, with the shallow end of the range left for the safety stop.

Season follows Dominica: Diving is favourable all year; December to May is the driest and calmest stretch, and occasional summer rain does little to dive quality.
