Abu Hashish is an island at the centre of a wide bay south of Hurghada, where a lagoon opens through a channel onto a shelf and a drop-off. Pelagic fish and whitetips patrol the drop-off, and the site suits all levels of divers and training.
Also known as Abu Hashish Island, Abu Hashisch.

The dive
The usual route leaves the lagoon through an obvious channel filled with table corals, crosses the shelf to the drop-off and follows it north. The current runs mainly north to south and is strongest along the drop-off, where jacks, barracuda, spanish mackerel and whitetips are common, and caves open in the 30 m region.
