Cave of Georgitsis
Ancient stalactites in an air pocket at the back of the cave
Cave of Georgitsis is a sea cave on the southeast coast of Folegandros, near Karavostasis, reached only from the water. It is a shallow cave dive without current, and divers go for the deep blue light inside and the old stalactites hanging in an air pocket at the far end.
Also known as Georgitsi's Cave, Georgitsi Cave, Georgitsis Cave.

The dive
Most of the dive sits around 11 m, with 17 m at the deepest point. Inside the cave the water takes on a distinct deep blue colour. Small gold blotch groupers turn up often, along with hermit crabs and slipper lobsters. At the cave's end divers make a brief surface in the air space to see the ancient stalactites.
