Beach House

A large arch joining two parallel lava fingers

Beach House lies directly out from the Beach House restaurant on the south shore. Two fingers of lava run side by side, joined by a large arch that dominates the site, with a school of blue-striped grunts living beneath it. The reef runs 11–21 m (35–70 ft).

The dive

The site sits directly out from the Beach House restaurant. Two fingers of lava run side by side across the bottom, with the reef running from 11 m to 21 m (35-70 ft) and its top at around 20 m (65 ft), so there are few shallow spots to hang on.

The arch that connects the two fingers dominates the site. A large school of blue-striped grunts lives under it with turtles and tang, and helmet conch cruise the sandy patches hunting burrowing urchins. On the west side of the fingers a small cave holds a mix of bottom fish. The site is rated for intermediate and advanced divers and is reached by boat.
