Donegal Point
An airy cavern on the swim back to the anchored boat
Donegal Point is an inlet on the coast near Kilkee where a calm kelp forest gives way to a wall full of cracks and overhangs. It is one of the regular boat sites from Kilkee, and in season spider crabs cover the ground.

The dive
Divers drop into the kelp forest, which starts at 7 m, then follow the wall down to 30 m, where the cracks and overhangs hold plenty of life. The route then swims through an airy cavern and loops back around to the anchored boat.
