Batu Mandi
Deeper second dive beside the active cone of Anak Krakatau
Batu Mandi lies next to Anak Krakatau, the child of Krakatau and the active cone of the group. It is one of the two choices for the second dive of a Krakatau day, deeper than the first, between 18 and 24 m (60 to 80 ft).

The dive
Batu Mandi is the second dive of the day, made beside Anak Krakatau after the shallower first dive at Legon Cabe. Batu Mandi and Karang Serang, the alternative second dive nearby, both sit between 18 m (60 ft) and 24 m (80 ft), so the whole dive runs in that deeper band.

Season follows Krakatau & Sangiang Island: No single month stands out; the very windy west monsoon from December to February is the time to avoid, and wind sets the visibility.
Know before you go
- Anak Krakatau, right beside the site, is an active volcano; its latest eruption began on 4 September 2026.
