Deep Corner sits in the middle of the channel on Meemu's eastern rim, between Mantas and More and Sharks Tongue. Its coral walls slope gently down to 35 m and then turn into a sheer drop to the open ocean, and the face is cut with a mass of overhangs, which makes it a deep wall dive in a channel that carries the atoll's current.

The dive
The site is in the middle of the channel, so the drop is made in open water and the descent goes straight to the wall. The coral walls slope gently at first and keep going to 35 m, which is the deepest point of the recreational dive; below that the slope turns into a sheer drop to the blue ocean, and the guide will hold the group above the lip rather than follow the drop-off.
The feature of the wall is a mass of overhangs, which are explored along the face as the group works back up from the deepest point. Because the site sits in the middle of a channel, expect current and plan for a drift along the wall, ending with an ascent in open water under a surface marker for the boat pick-up rather than a return to a fixed point.

Season follows Meemu Atoll: Calmest seas and clearest water on the north-east monsoon, Nov–Apr. Sources disagree on manta timing at Mantas and More (Dec–May versus May–Dec), so do not plan a trip around it.
