Sunk beside the YO-257, decks at 20 and 21 m

A former fishing boat, about 24 m long (80 ft), sunk in 1996 directly abeam of the YO-257 on the same patch of sand off Waikiki. She rests in 26 m with her main decks at 20 and 21 m, shallower than her neighbour, and the same turtles and reef sharks work both wrecks.

The dive
She is the smaller and shallower of the Waikiki pair, resting in 26 m of water with her main decks at 20 and 21 m, so a dive that starts on the YO-257 can finish here on the way up rather than the other way around. At about 24 m long (80 ft) she takes only a few minutes to swim, which is what makes the two-wreck plan work at all.
Marine life moves between both ships: turtles and reef sharks, whitetips among them, are the residents divers see most on this stretch of sand. Everything around the wrecks is open bottom, so the structure is the whole of the dive and the navigation is simply a matter of keeping one hull or the other in sight.

Atlantis Submarines put the San Pedro down in 1996, seven years after sinking the YO-257 on the same ground, and the two have been dived as a pair ever since. Sources disagree on where she came from: Wikivoyage records her as a former Korean fishing boat, while Rainbow Scuba Hawaii dates her to a Japanese yard around 1946. What is not disputed is her size, about 24 m (80 ft), and her position directly abeam of the larger wreck.

Season follows Oʻahu: South-shore boat diving runs all year; the North Shore reefs at Pupukea are only calm from about May to October and are dangerous in winter.
