Whisky Reef
A stone reef built in 2016 that stays sheltered on windy days
Whisky Reef is an artificial stone reef off Klampenborg, laid down when the coast road there was rebuilt in 2016. It lies well sheltered from the wind, which makes it a fallback for blowy days, and its seagrass and seaweed hold small fish in colourful shoals.
Also known as Whiskey Reef.
Where it is and how deep
55.7721° N, 12.5811° EApproximate position — the dashed circle shows where the site lies; your operator's briefing has the mooring.
The dive
The reef is a man-made field of stone in water no deeper than 7 m. Small shoals of young wrasse, gobies and trout fry move through the seagrass and seaweed that have grown over the rocks, and the colour of the weed is part of the dive.
