Dionisos Wall is a cove dive 20 minutes by boat from Golden Beach on Paros. The cove is protected when the north wind blows and the wall itself is sheltered from current, dropping to 25 m and beyond. On the site lie amphorae and the remains of a wooden wreck from the island's pirate era, and the wall is worked slowly for macro life, above all several species of nudibranch, plus moray eels and octopus.

The dive
The boat runs 20 minutes from Golden Beach to a cove that stays protected in a north wind. Descend on the wall, which is sheltered from current and drops to 25 m and more. Somewhere on the site are the amphorae and the other remains of a wooden wreck from the pirate era of Paros; ask the guide to point them out, since no published description says exactly where on the wall they lie.
Work the wall slowly on the way back up: this is a macro site above all, with several species of nudibranch on the rock, and a number of moray eels and octopus in the holes. Keep close to the face and move slowly, since the animals are small and the rock is where they are. With no shallow limit or route published, the depth and turn point are the guide's call, and the sheltered cove gives an easy ascent.

Season follows Paros & Naxos: The Naxos centre opens mid-April to early November. The meltemi blows mid-May to mid-September, most constant in July and August, when boats keep to moorings sheltered from the north wind.
