La Crevasse is a sheer wall near the blow hole on French Bay, fifty minutes by boat from the Riding Rock marina. A main crevice over 60 m (200 ft) long cuts through the wall from a sandy area to the edge at 30 m (100 ft), branching into caves and tunnels that can fill the whole dive.

The dive

The boat moors over 11 m (35 ft) of heavy coral growth on the wall top, which runs parallel to shore. The wall is sheer, dropping from 12 m (40 ft) to 46 m (150 ft). A series of big crevices and tunnels runs through it from a sandy area to the edge of the wall at 30 m (100 ft); the main crevice is over 60 m (200 ft) long and branches into several caves and tunnels, with a smaller series of crevices to the east.

Divers swim out over the wall and descend to 30 m (100 ft) at the mouth of the crevice, then follow it in towards shore, watching for connecting tunnels on the right. At 15 m (50 ft) they turn and return to the wall edge through parallel crevices and tunnels, finishing on top of the wall near the boat. Coral and fish are plentiful along the edge and on the wall top, and the entire dive can be spent inside the crevice system.
