Dive Point Coral Reef lies a short swim off the beach in front of the Dive Point diving centre. The drop-off starts among coral rocks at 5 to 6 metres and falls away to 25, with fields of staghorn coral characterising the deeper part. It is dived by day for the turtles and reef fish, and after dark for the critters.

The dive
This is a swim-out rather than a boat dive: the site is a short swimming distance from shore, just in front of the Dive Point diving centre. The drop-off starts in an area of coral rocks at 5 to 6 metres and falls away to 25, so you can set whatever depth you want on the way out and keep the return leg in the shallows where the light is.
Fields of staghorn coral characterise the deeper part of the reef. Green and hawksbill turtles are common along it, with triggerfish, clownfish, damselfish, scorpionfish, dory snapper and parrotfish over the coral. After dark the cast changes over: frogfish, shrimps and crabs, and squid come out, which is what makes this one of the sites divers come back to at night rather than only in daylight.
