Takane
A sacred torii gate and shrine altar standing on the seabed
Takane is a boat point off Hazama, on the Tokyo Bay side of Tateyama, where a large torii gate and a shrine altar stand on the seabed. The water here is usually calm, which makes the underwater shrine a dive that newly certified divers and old hands both make.
Also known as Hazama Takane.

The dive
The torii and the altar of the shrine rest about 15 m (49 ft) below the surface, a short boat ride from the port. Asian sheepshead wrasses, longtooth groupers and striped beakfish move around the shrine, and fields of sea pens spread across the bottom nearby.
