Herbs growing in transparent biospheres at 8 m

Nemo's Garden is Ocean Reef Group's underwater farm in the bay of Noli: transparent biospheres anchored to the sandy seabed at 6–8 m, about 80 m off the shoreline, growing basil and other herbs hydroponically. It is a dive like nothing else on this coast — shallow, sheltered and entirely man-made.

The dive
The pilot plant sits in the sheltered waters of Noli bay, roughly 80 m off the shoreline, with the biospheres anchored to sand at 6–8 m — shallow enough that the whole dive is a long, easy tour in good light. You swim out over the sandy bottom and the pods appear ahead: transparent domes moored to the seabed.
The installation counts nine biospheres, each holding over 100 seedbeds of basil and other herbs, and the dive is a slow circuit from pod to pod, looking up into the air pockets where the crops grow. The shallow depth means bottom time is never the constraint, and the sheltered bay keeps conditions gentle — this is a camera dive above all.

Season follows Bergeggi, Noli, Spotorno & Finale Ligure: No closed season — the cutoff is wind, with grecale above roughly 15–18 knots stopping diving. Water falls to 13°C in February and peaks near 24°C in August.
