Bacong
A wall to 30 m, split by cracks and crevices

Bacong starts on sand and turns into a wall. The top of the site is at 5 m and the face drops from there to 30, and what makes it worth diving slowly is the state of the rock itself: it is broken by cracks and crevices rather than running as one clean sheet.

The dive
The dive opens on a sandy slope, which is a gentle way to start and gives an easy reference to descend along. It runs out and turns into the wall proper, with the top of the reef at 5 m and the face dropping from there to 30. Once you are on the wall the dive takes the standard shape for this coast: pick a depth, turn along the face and work it in one direction.
The wall is cracked and fissured rather than flat, so there are crevices to look into the whole way along, and that sets the pace here — a dive spent stopping rather than swimming. Coming back, the sandy slope and the shallow reef top at 5 m give a long, easy shallow section to finish over instead of hanging on a line in open water.
