Kerbela
Red coral and a gorgonian forest found nowhere else in Turkey
Kerbela is a deep pinnacle off Ayvalık whose top lies at 30 m. Its slopes carry red coral and a gorgonian forest, a sight found in Turkey only around Ayvalık, and it is a dive for well-qualified divers.

The dive
The descent ends on the hilltop at 30 m, and from there the slopes continue down to 65 m. Red coral and a gorgonian forest cover the rock, and the hill is home to conger eels, morays, groupers and a variety of other fish.
