Boulder Point is a field of volcanic boulders in Batanes, piled into a jumbled landscape of caves, overhangs and crevices. Moray eels and lionfish shelter in the gaps, filter-feeders coat the rocks, and the site is also dived at night for reef lobsters and shrimp.

The dive
The boulders spread from 8 m down to 22 m, and the dive weaves among their caves, overhangs and crevices, where moray eels, lionfish and a range of invertebrates hide. A moderate current carries nutrients over the rocks and feeds the filter-feeders that cover them. After dark the same boulders turn up reef lobsters and shrimp out of their daytime cover.
