Ilha de Gravatás is an island on the way from Búzios out to Ilha de Âncora, dived for its large wall of boulders. The wall reaches 30 m at its deepest point and carries few corals, but morays, rays and fish live along it, and the site is recommended only for certified divers.
Also known as Ilha Gravatas, Ilha Gravatá.

The dive
Ilha de Gravatás sits on the way from the Búzios coast to Ilha de Âncora, the island 11 km offshore, and the site is recommended only for certified divers rather than for first-time divers. The dive follows a large wall of boulders down from the island, reaching a maximum depth of 30 m at its deepest point.
Coral cover on the wall is sparse, so the animals are the interest: moray eels, rays and a scattering of fish are seen along the boulders. Divers who want coral will find more of it at the shallower Ilha Feia, while Gravatás is a wall dive over rock.
