The dive

The boat drops you on the wall and the depth you follow it at is a decision made before you get in. Open Water divers keep to less than 20 m along the wall structure; Advanced divers work the 20 to 30 m band below it. Either way the dive is the wall face and the bommies that stand on the sandy bottom beside it, followed out and back at the agreed depth.

Fiddler rays, eagle rays and stingrays are all listed for the site, and the sandy bottom at the base of the wall and around the bommies is where the bottom-dwelling rays settle. The rock itself holds octopus and moray eels in the holes and nudibranchs on the faces. Turn at your planned pressure, come back up to the shallower section of the wall and finish the dive there before ascending to the boat.
