Dynamite Point Reef
Very large sea fans among soft-coral gardens
Area photo: Ray in Manila · CC BY 2.0
Dynamite Point Reef lies between Culion and Chindonan islands. Despite the name it is a shallow coral-garden dive, with colourful soft corals and some of the largest fan corals in the area, and it suits divers who mainly want to spend a dive looking at coral and the life it shelters.
Where it is and how deep
11.9135° N, 120.0563° EApproximate position — the dashed circle shows where the site lies; your operator's briefing has the mooring.
The dive
The reef runs from 2 m down to 18 m between the two islands, a slope of coral gardens in which the very colourful soft corals stand out, and sea fans of unusual size spread across it from the shallows to the base of the reef.

Season follows Coron: Dry December to April brings glassy seas and the best visibility; in the wet months bad weather sometimes stops diving.
