White-tips on the drop-offs, pygmy seahorses in the shallows

Twin Peaks is a reef built around two coral-covered seamounts near Coron. It mixes larger animals on the deeper drop-offs with macro life in the shallows, so a single dive can run from white-tip reef sharks and barracuda down deep to ghost pipefish and pygmy seahorses in the coral crevices.

The dive
The dive starts down the deeper reef slopes to 25 m, where white-tip reef sharks and barracuda patrol the drop-offs, most often when a moderate current is running and the water is clear.
Moving up, the main slope is covered in staghorn and table corals, sea fans and sponges, busy with anthias, batfish, sweetlips, schooling fusiliers and turtles. The dive ends in the shallow coral gardens, searching the crevices for nudibranchs, ghost pipefish and pygmy seahorses.

Season follows Coron: Dry December to April brings glassy seas and the best visibility; in the wet months bad weather sometimes stops diving.
