The continuation of the Vengeur drop-off, forty minutes out from Golfe-Juan, and the type example of the tombant this coast is built on. A plateau at 7 m runs out to a lip, and from there the wall drops to 60 m and keeps going for several hundred metres. Grouper, lobster and barracuda are the standing fish on it.

The dive
Forty minutes' sail from Golfe-Juan puts the boat over the far end of the Vengeur drop-off. The plateau on top sits at 7 m and the wall below it plunges to 60. Because the drop-off runs several hundred metres along the coast, the dive works as a traverse rather than a circuit: settle on a depth on the face and hold it, working along the wall rather than up and down it.
The rock is rich enough to slow the traverse down. Grouper hold on the face, lobster and slipper lobster sit back in the cracks, sea hares and nudibranchs are on the rock itself and barracuda hang off the wall in open water. Coming back up onto the 7 m plateau at the end gives a long, easy shallow finish inside the same dive instead of a hang in mid-water.

Season follows Côte d'Azur: Water runs about 13°C in February and 25°C in August, and diving carries on year-round; the Théoule park's shore trail opens only from mid-June to mid-September.
