Dick’s Rock
Granite boulders scattered with old amphorae and anchors
Dick’s Rock is a reef of granite boulders off the Datça peninsula, named after Dick, the Dutch dive-centre owner who found it. Old amphorae and anchors lie on the reef, and divers come for the mix of history and fish life, from groupers and moray eels to passing turtles.
Also known as Dicks Rock, Dick’in Kayası.

The dive
The reef starts at 13 m and its granite boulders carry on down to 35 m. A few old amphorae and anchors rest among the rocks. Small schools of amberjack and two-banded bream, dusky spinefoot, small golden groupers and moray eels live around the boulders, and turtles can turn up on the way back to the surface.
