Galeotta
A sloping plateau that tips over into a curving wall
Galeotta is a small islet off Favignana that forms a tiny archipelago with neighbouring Preveto. Its east and south sides are dived as a plateau that turns into a curving wall, giving a multilevel dive that suits less experienced divers on days without much current.
Also known as La Galeotta.

The dive
The dive covers the east and south sides of the islet. A sloping plateau leads out from the rock and becomes a drop-off at around 15 m, where a curving wall takes over. On the south-eastern flank the rock falls from 10 m to about 30 m, so divers choose how far down the wall to go before working back up across the plateau.

Season follows Egadi Islands: June to September is the best stretch across the islands, and Marettimo's best period runs from May to October.
Know before you go
- Current can run around the islet; the dive suits less experienced divers only when there is not too much of it.
