Secca del Toro
A shoal whose seabed is cut into canyons
Secca del Toro is a shoal in the waters off Favignana whose seabed is cut into canyons. It reaches a maximum of 30 m, so it is dived by boat as a deeper reef dive among the gullies and rock of the Egadi Islands Marine Protected Area.

The dive
The bottom of the shoal is a canyon seabed rather than a flat reef. The deepest part of the canyon reaches 30 m, which sets the limit of the dive and calls for Advanced Open Water training to reach its floor.
