Shabruhr Umm Gamar is a long reef south-east of El Gouna whose plateau slopes gently east until it turns into a steep drop-off. Divers come for the easy slope, the remains of an Egyptian army supply ship lying in the deeper section, and the large moray eels that are a common sight.

The dive
Heading east across the plateau, the bottom slopes gently from 14 m to approximately 30 m before it becomes a steep drop-off or wall. The wreck remains of an Egyptian army supply ship lie in this deeper section, and large moray eels are a common sight along the reef.

Season follows Hurghada & El Gouna: Diving runs all year; the seas settle from March to November and are calmest in summer, while February brings the coolest water.
