Amphora Wall
A bay slope that steps down onto a second sandy terrace
Amphora Wall is a boat dive on the Hvar coast where a sandy bay gives way to a rock face. The seabed comes down in steps rather than one long drop, so the site offers a wall to follow with a deeper sandy terrace below it for divers who want to look further down.
Where it is and how deep
43.1849° N, 16.3979° EApproximate position — the dashed circle shows where the site lies; your operator's briefing has the mooring.
The dive
The dive begins on the sandy slope of the bay. Where the slope ends, the seabed drops from 20 m to 26 m onto a second sandy slope that carries on down to 40 m. From the drop the route turns east with the wall on the left shoulder, and the ascent is made slowly along the wall.
