A 5 m platform off the beach, and diving down to 40 m

A beach on the north Jeddah strip with a platform at about 5 m off the sand, and a site that is dived to a maximum of 40 m below it. It is dived by beginners and by experienced divers off the same entry, the difference being how deep the plan goes. When a current runs, the colour and the fish life come with it.

The dive

The platform at about 5 m is the anchor of the dive and the reason the site is described as suitable for beginners and professionals alike. Find it early and use it as the reference you navigate back to, because everything else here is a question of how deep you choose to go from it. For an entry-level dive that shallow ground is the whole plan, and it holds enough to fill a tank.

Below the platform the site is dived to a maximum of 40 m, which is the recreational floor and not a depth to slide into by accident. Decide before you enter which dive you are doing, set a hard maximum, and turn on gas rather than on interest. If a current is running, expect the site to be at its best, with colour and marine life through the water, and plan the return to the beach with that in mind.
