Don Félix

The park's shallowest hull, at about 18 m and minutes from town

The Don Félix is a 23 m fishing boat lying at about 18 m in the Parque Submarino Las Grutas, a few minutes by boat from town. It is the shallowest of the park's wrecks and the one hull not prepared for penetration, so the dive is a tour of the outside, where a wide range of Patagonian marine life has settled.

Also known as Don Felix.

The dive

The run out to the Don Félix is short: the sunken hull of the former fishing boat lies only a few minutes by boat from Las Grutas. It sits on the bottom at about 18 m, and at 23 m long it is both the shallowest and the shortest of the park's wrecks, a fishing boat converted into an artificial reef for divers.

Unlike the other hulls in the park, the Don Félix has not been prepared for divers to go inside, so the dive stays on the exterior. The hull has become home to a wide variety of Patagonian marine life.
