The dive
The site starts shallow at around 5 m (15 ft), where rocky reef meets a sandy bottom, and the profile runs down to 24 m (80 ft). The mix of sand and rock is what makes the dive, and the reef carries ray cleaning stations. The name comes from the rock above, whose profile resembles the head of a whale surfacing from the sea.
Spotted eagle rays are the main reason to dive here, over a mix of sandy bottom and rocky reef. At some times of the year humpback whales can be heard singing underwater during the dive. The rock formation above the site marks the start of the Corridor, which runs on toward San José del Cabo. The site is rated intermediate.
