Deep Blue
Steep wall from 3 m to 45 m, running east into hard coral

A steep wall at the mouth of Gawana Bay, five minutes by boat from the jetty, sloping from 3 m at the top to 45 m and merging eastward into a hard coral garden. That range is the point of the site: it can be run deep along the face or kept entirely shallow over the coral at its eastern end.

The dive
The drop is at the mouth of the bay, on top of a wall that starts within 3 m of the surface and falls steeply to 45 m. The whole of that range is available from the moment you descend, so the dive is shaped by the plan rather than the terrain — most groups take the face down to their agreed depth early, then work back up it while the gas lasts.
Heading east, the wall gives way to a garden of hard coral in the shallows, and that is where the dive ends: a long, flat finish in a few metres of water instead of a hang in the blue. Divers who want nothing to do with 45 m can skip the face entirely and spend the tank on the coral end, which is shallow enough to make a very long dive out of one cylinder.

Season follows Menjangan & West Bali: Divable all year thanks to the lee of Java; Apr–Nov is driest, and the wet season only affects surface conditions.
Know before you go
- The wall is steep from 3 m to 45 m with no natural stopping point, so agree a maximum depth before the descent rather than following the face down.
