Mur de corail, listed in English as Coral Wall, lies just outside Opunohu Bay on Moorea's north coast, where the reef breaks into coral canyons separated by gentle slopes. The published profile is 15 to 20 m and the site is described as accessible to divers of all levels, which makes it one of the island's more straightforward outer-reef dives.

Also known as Coral Wall.

The dive

The dive works the ground immediately beyond the mouth of Opunohu Bay, between coral canyons and the gentle slopes that run between them. The published range is narrow, 15 to 20 m, so the profile stays flat: you drop onto the reef, follow the canyons at whatever depth the structure sits, and come back up the slope, rather than working a wall down and back the way the site's name suggests.

Nothing is published about currents, visibility or the marine life along this particular stretch of reef, so take the site description as the shape of the dive and the boat briefing as the detail. The directory's own framing is what makes it useful: accessible to all, nothing below 20 m, close outside the bay. It reads as the first dive of a trip, or the shallow second tank after something deeper on the outer reef.
