Sengokuoka is a sand dive off Shirahama where the attraction is small and patient: gobies sharing their burrows with snapping shrimp. It is open to beginners and to anyone who wants to settle on the sand and watch the partnership between fish and shrimp at close range.

The dive
The dive spans 12 to 21 m and centres on the sand at 20 m. Gobies are plentiful there, yellownose shrimpgobies among them, and each lives in partnership with a snapping shrimp that shares its burrow in the sand.
