Hembadhoo Wreck

The Hembadhoo Wreck is a small former tugboat scuttled in 1988 on the house reef of Taj Coral Island in North Malé Atoll. It sits upright on sand and has grown soft and black corals with moray eels and lionfish living on it.

The dive

The 16 m hull rests upright on the sandy bottom between 15 and 22 m, and the site reaches 25 m at its deepest. Moray eels, stingrays and many lionfish live on and around the wreck, and soft and black corals grow over the structure with longnose hawkfish perched on them.
