Suogang Hangwan
A working post box on the seabed off Suogang Village
Suogang Hangwan is a shallow shore dive off Suogang Village on the main island of Penghu, home to a submarine mailbox. Clear water, a gentle current and depths of 3 to 8 m make it an entry-level site for first dives and snorkelling, with coral, reef fish, cuttlefish and sea turtles.

The dive
Divers walk in from the shore over shallow coral ground. The best-known stop is the submarine mailbox at around 5 m, which takes post from March to November. Around it the reef holds colourful coral, sea urchins and diverse reef fish, with cuttlefish, clownfish, barracuda and sea turtles also seen across the site.

Season follows Penghu Islands: No month stands out as the best; April to September is the busy season, and October to February is very windy.
