You and Me Giri
Top reef at 1 m and a 25 m base with macro life, 8 minutes from the resort

You and Me Giri is a small reef on the north side of You & Me Maldives in Raa Atoll, 8 minutes by boat from the resort. The top of the giri is at 1 m and the reef bottom at 25 m with macro life at the base, which makes it a short trip for a dive that starts almost at the surface and goes as deep as your certification allows.

The dive
The boat takes 8 minutes to reach the giri, north of the resort. Descend beside the top reef, which is only 1 m below the surface, and follow the reef down to the bottom at 25 m. A giri is a small, compact reef, so the dive is a circuit: pick a direction, keep the reef on one side and work round it, deepest first.
The base at 25 m is where the macro life is, so this is where to look closely at the reef for small subjects before no-decompression time nudges you upward. Rise gradually as you circle the giri, and finish with a lap of the top reef in the last metre or two of water, which gives the safety stop and a well-lit end to the dive.

Season follows Raa Atoll: Dec–Apr is the calm, clear window and when mantas use the Uthuru Maafaru cleaning stations; the south-west monsoon (Jun–Nov) brings rain and a choppy surface.
