A 175 m bulk carrier aground off Nabq since 1996

The Million Hope is a 175 m bulk carrier that ran onto a reef near Nabq, about 3 miles north of Sharm El Sheikh, in June 1996, just past the Tiran Strait. It is a recent and fairly shallow wreck, and the sea state decides whether it can be dived at all.

The dive
Boats reach the wreck only on days when the sea conditions are very good. The 175 m bulk carrier came to rest on the reef near Nabq at a maximum depth of 22 m, so the whole hull lies within recreational depths.
