A 10-to-26 m vertical wall at the tip of the port breakwater

A vertical wall at the end of Tarragona's port breakwater, dropping from 10 m down to 26 m — the deepest of the harbour's regular boat dives run at Open Water level. The dive is the structure itself: a man-made face falling away to the seabed a few minutes from the Port Esportiu quay.

The dive

The dive starts where the port breakwater ends: at its tip a vertical wall begins at 10 m and descends to 26 m, and the profile follows it. The usual shape is to drop onto the top of the wall, work down the face towards your planned maximum, and then travel along the structure at depth before stepping the dive back up the wall as gas and no-deco time dictate.

At 26 m to the base this is the deepest of the ordinary Open Water dives on the Tarragona roster, so depth discipline matters more here than at the harbour's other sites. The wall gives constant vertical reference on the way down and back up, which makes the profile easy to control, and the boat ride from the Port Esportiu is short since the site sits at the breakwater itself.
