Motore dei Monaci
A large diesel engine sheltering congers and morays
Motore dei Monaci takes its name from a large diesel engine lying north-east of the Isola dei Monaci. The engine rests at the foot of a small north-facing wall, and the remains of this small wreck give shelter to conger eels and morays.

The dive
The dive runs along a small north-facing wall down to its foot, where the big diesel engine lies at 23 m. The engine, a small wreck in itself, offers plenty of hiding places, and the conger eels and morays living in them are the main thing to look for.
