Faro dei Monaci is dived under the lighthouse on the Isola dei Monaci, from a cove sheltered from the Grecale and Scirocco winds. The anchorage sits on a 5 m bottom suited to beginners, while the seabed below descends fairly quickly to 30 to 35 m, where the gorgonians are.

The dive
The boat anchors in the cove below the lighthouse, where the bottom lies at only 5 m and newer divers can stay in the shallows. From the anchorage the seabed descends fairly quickly to 30 to 35 m, and the gorgonians appear at that depth for divers who follow the slope down.
