Angel Reef
The sheltered, quiet-water reef behind Goat Island

Angel Reef is a shallow reef on the western side of Goat Island, sheltered by the island, with calmer water and a quiet current. Good visibility makes it a favoured site for underwater photographers, with cleaning stations along the reef.
Where it is and how deep
11.3006° N, 60.5193° WApproximate position — the dashed circle shows where the site lies; your operator's briefing has the mooring.
The dive
The reef lies between 4 m (15 ft) and 18 m (60 ft) in the lee of Goat Island, where the current is quiet and the water calm. At the cleaning stations, shrimp pick parasites off angelfish, groupers, snappers and parrotfish, and the shelter and good visibility leave time to work the reef slowly with a camera. The same quiet conditions make it a popular night dive.
