The Ghost Ship: an intact 20 m motor-sailboat on sand at 38 m

A well-preserved motor-sailboat around 20 m long, lying on sand at 38 m in the centre of the bay, found in 2019 by the manager of the SCUBANEO dive centre and nicknamed the Ghost Ship. It is a deep dive for recreational divers with deep-diving experience, run with stage tanks for emergencies, and it draws schools of triggerfish and large amberjack around the structure.

The dive
The wreck sits in the centre of the bay, and the position gives the dive its character: a descent through open water to a vessel that appears out of the blue below you, then the seabed at 38 m. There is no reef to follow, so the plan is fixed before you go in. SCUBANEO takes only recreational divers with deep-diving experience and carries stage tanks for emergency management, which tells you how the operators think of the depth.
The boat itself is a motor-sailboat roughly 20 m long, resting on sand and well preserved, and 20 m of hull at that depth is a compact tour: bottom time is short, so you circle the structure rather than trying to see everything. Schools of triggerfish and large amberjack roam around the wreck, with scorpionfish, moray and conger eels on the structure, rays on the sand around it, and gilthead bream, white seabream and nudibranchs on the hull. Ascend with the group for the stops.
